The UK has volunteered to host the African Investment conference this week. Many could argue that this is a form of desperation to hold their control and influence on one of the planet’s greatest economies. This event will be opened by the Prime Minister, addressing African officials , business heads in Africa and the leader of the WTO. Links with the African economy are very important with this continent. There is a huge push for investment currently due to aid cuts of just under £1 bn for this region for the following year. Therefore, the UK government is aiming to replace aid for the continent with trade of products and services.
